HSBC Holdings plc is the ultimate holding company of the HSBC banking group; its subsidiaries are arranged in four regional groups, with HSBC Asia Holdings Ltd holding the Asian business, including The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation.[^hsbc-structure] It has no corporate parent: its Legal Entity Identifier record reports no consolidating parent above it,[^gleif-hsbc] and its largest shareholders in early 2024 were BlackRock with 8.9% and Ping An Asset Management with 8.82%.[^wiki-hsbc] It is registered at 8 Canada Square, London, as company 00617987, incorporated on 1 January 1959.[^ch-hsbc]
