Hershey, registered as The Hershey Company, is the American confectionery group founded by Milton S. Hershey in 1894 as the Hershey Chocolate Company and still seated at Hershey, Pennsylvania.[^wiki-hershey] Its shares trade on the New York Stock Exchange under HSY, but Hershey Trust Company, as trustee for the trust Milton and Catherine Hershey set up for Milton Hershey School, maintains voting control as its controlling stockholder and has three representatives on its board.[^hsy-10k-2025] At the end of 2023 that trust held 99.9% of the Class B stock, which carries ten votes a share, and 27.7% of the common stock counted as converted.[^mhst-13g-2024]
