EMI Music Germany GmbH & Co. KG was the German record company of the EMI group, seated in Cologne and the successor of EMI Electrola, which German Wikipedia says was renamed in spring 2002.[^wikipedia-de] The Cologne district court registered the partnership under HRA 15434 on 24 May 2002 as EMI Electrola GmbH & Co. KG, with EMI Group Germany GmbH as general partner and EMI Overseas Holdings Ltd. as limited partner, and recorded the name EMI Music Germany GmbH & Co. KG on 15 October 2002; Virgin Schallplatten GmbH & Co. KG was merged into it on 2 October 2002 and MUTE Tonträger GmbH on 30 July 2003, EMI Recorded Music GmbH replaced EMI Group Germany GmbH as general partner on 3 April 2008, and the register records the company's termination on 23 April 2013.[^northdata]
