BC Partners is a private equity firm headquartered in London, formally BC Partners LLP, which traces itself to Baring Capital Investors, founded in 1986 by Otto van der Wyck; it runs private equity, private credit and real estate strategies with more than $40 billion of assets under management and about 190 staff.[^wikibc][^bcpartners] In June 2013 it agreed to buy the German publisher Springer Science+Business Media for about €3.3 billion, reported as $4.4 billion, taking the majority stake from EQT AB and the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation.[^wikibc][^wikispringer]
