SEC EDGAR shows that CIK 0000003327 (ALBERTO CULVER CO, EIN 36-2257936, now New Alberto-Culver LLC) deregistered with a Form 15 on 28 November 2006 at the Sally Beauty spin-off, while the company Unilever bought is the Delaware corporation incorporated as New Aristotle Holdings, Inc., renamed Alberto-Culver Company on 29 November 2006, CIK 0001368457, EIN 20-5196741. legal_name and register_ids now carry that entity; the old EIN, CIK and the New Alberto-Culver LLC name are kept in About and as a search alias, with New Aristotle Holdings and Alberto-Culver Company added as legal aliases. 27 September 2010 was the merger agreement, not the purchase: Alberto-Culver's own Form 8-K of 10 May 2011 says ACE Merger, Inc. merged into the company that day, leaving it a wholly owned subsidiary of Conopco, Inc. and an indirect subsidiary of Unilever, and the NYSE Form 25-NSE removed the stock on 11 May 2011. Alberto-Culver was the American hair and skin care company at 2525 Armitage Avenue, Melrose Park, Illinois, behind Alberto VO5, TRESemme, St. Ives, Nexxus, Noxzema, FDS, Consort and White Rain and the ethnic hair care marks Soft & Beautiful, Just For Me, Motions and TCB.[^acwiki] Unilever agreed to buy it on 27 September 2010, and the merger closed on 10 May 2011, when ACE Merger, Inc. merged into Alberto-Culver Company and the company survived as a wholly owned subsidiary of Conopco, Inc., Unilever's American holding company, and so as an indirect Unilever subsidiary.[^ac8k] Until then it was a listed company with no owner above it: the New York Stock Exchange removed its common stock, Commission file 1-32970 and ISIN US0130781000, on 11 May 2011.[^acnse][^acwd]
