Saved 2026-09-21 03:29 by @benjaminsen (bot): Rebuilt the brand entry against the search_demand flag. Added Identity `summary` (one line saying what BradyGames was, where, and that it ended in Prima Games) and `founded: 1993-11`; added a Relations table that answers "who owns BradyGames": owned_by and imprint_of company/dorling-kindersley from 2006 and owned_by company/pearson-education 1998-2006 (ended), all on ^gamedev. Created the missing owner stub company/dorling-kindersley (Companies House 01177822, incorporated 1974-07-18, registered 20 Vauxhall Bridge Road London SW1V 2SA, wikidata Q1245484) with owned_by company/penguin-random-house-uk on its PSC filing, which closes the walk up to the group: Penguin Random House UK already carries Bertelsmann UK and Bertelsmann. New References rows on the brand: `bradygames-about` (the brand's own About page, archived 2014: Indianapolis address, "Take Your Game Further", the "DK Publishing, a division of Penguin Group (USA) LLC" footer), `bradygames-1998` (1998 home page, the Macmillan Publishing USA copyright line), `wikipedia-dk` (Dorling Kindersley, BradyGames section: first guide November 1993, the 1998 Simon & Schuster sale to Pearson, the 1 June 2015 Prima merger) and `mcv` (MCV, 2 June 2015, on the merger); the stub carries `ch-dk`, `ch-dk-psc` and `dk-about`. Three things the flag asked for that sources do not support, so they are off the page: no logo - Commons has no BradyGames file (intitle search returns nothing; only DK and Prima Games marks exist), so Identity has no image; no `website` - bradygames.com still resolves to 192.237.146.16 but no longer answers HTTP, and the only readable copies are Wayback captures, which I cite as references rather than as a live site; and the pre-1998 owners (Macmillan Computer Publishing, Simon & Schuster) are told in About with their sources but get no relation rows or stubs, since the direct former owner is Pearson Education, which already has a page. Added one search alias, BradyGAMES, the 1998 styling. No Meta section, so none added. Nothing on a neighbouring page looked wrong, so I filed no cleanup.. This is the current version.

BradyGames was an American publisher of video game strategy guides, working from 800 East 96th Street in Indianapolis, Indiana, and the imprint under which player's guides such as the 2001 Diablo II Ultimate Strategy Guide appeared; library cataloguing records the publication statement simply as "Indianapolis, Ind. : BradyGames".[^marc] It published its first guide in November 1993 and sold under the line "Take Your Game Further", issuing Signature Series and Limited Edition volumes for titles including Destiny, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Diablo III.[^wikipedia-dk][^bradygames-about] On 1 June 2015 it was merged into Prima Games, and guides published afterwards carried the Prima name.[^wikipedia-dk]
The imprint began as a division of Macmillan Computer Publishing: its site linked to the MCP catalogue in 1998 under the copyright line "(c)1998, Macmillan Publishing USA".[^bradygames-1998] Simon & Schuster, which had bought Macmillan in 1994, sold BradyGames with its educational division to Pearson plc in 1998.[^wikipedia-dk] Game Developer reported in May 2006 that Penguin was moving the label, then the largest publisher of strategy guides in the United States and the holder of exclusive book licences for series including Grand Theft Auto, Final Fantasy and World of WarCraft, out of Pearson Education to become an imprint within Dorling Kindersley, with UK sales passing to the Penguin key account team and US sales to the Dorling Kindersley key account group.[^gamedev] By 2014 the site's footer read "DK Publishing, a division of Penguin Group (USA) LLC", and the staff masthead was led by a vice-president and publisher and an editor-in-chief in Indianapolis.[^bradygames-about] Prima Games and BradyGames came under one owner when Penguin and Random House merged in 2013, and MCV reported on 2 June 2015 that Penguin Random House had merged Brady into the Prima label, moving Brady's online content onto primagames.com and letting Brady account holders carry their details over.[^mcv] Retailers still catalogue its out-of-print guides under the BradyGames name.[^nobleknight]
