About Unilever Philippines

Unilever Philippines, Inc. is the Philippine subsidiary of Unilever, based in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, since 2016; it makes laundry detergents and soaps, shampoos, toothpastes, deodorants, skin care products and household cleaners, and its brands include Dove, Knorr, Close-Up and Lady's Choice.[1]

It was founded in 1927 as Philippine Refining Company, an oil miller that at its peak produced nearly 100,000 tons of coconut oil a year, and moved into margarine in the 1930s and detergents, shampoos and toothpaste in the 1960s and 1970s.[1] In 1993 it was renamed Unilever Philippines (PRC), Inc.[1]
