About Metcash Trading

Metcash Trading Pty Ltd is the operating company of the Australian wholesale group Metcash, wholly within the group: GLEIF names Metcash Limited as both its direct and its ultimate parent.[1] It is the group's member of GS1's GDSN data pool, listed as "Metcash Trading Limited Australasia" and, for the supermarket banner, as "(IGA) Metcash Trading Limited Australasia".[2] It holds the banner business names Supa IGA, Everyday IGA and IGA Shop Online, and Fast Moving Media, with its main business location in postcode 2113, Macquarie Park in Sydney.[3] Its registered office is 1 Thomas Holt Drive, Macquarie Park.[4] It issues Metcash's packaging, barcode and logistics specification for suppliers.[5]

The company was incorporated on 13 December 1935 and its earlier legal names include A.G. Campbell Pty Ltd, Davids Holdings (1988) Pty Limited, Davids Holdings Pty Ltd and Davids Limited.[4] Its ABN, 61 000 031 569, has been active since 23 February 2000 under the name Davids Limited; it became Metcash Trading Limited on 10 October 2000, took the trading name "Metcash Trading Limited Australasia" on 23 October 2000, and was renamed Metcash Trading Pty Ltd on 14 October 2025.[6] The GLEIF record, last updated in December 2025, still shows the name Metcash Trading Limited; the dated Australian register entry is followed here.[4]
