M & A Pharmachem Limited was a British pharmaceutical manufacturer incorporated on 1 February 1977 and registered at Companies House as 01296451, with the manufacture of pharmaceutical preparations and the wholesale of pharmaceutical goods among its registered activities.^[1] It specialised in making and selling paracetamol and opiate medicines,^[2] worked from Bolton, BL5 2AL, and held marketing authorisation PL 04077/0001 for Paracetamol 500 mg Tablets, acting as both authorisation holder and manufacturer.^[3] Administrators from FRP were appointed on 27 January 2022 and the Bolton business closed with 84 job losses;^[2] the company was dissolved on 29 April 2026.^[1]

The MHRA issued a Class 2 recall of several batches of that licence's 1 x 1000 pack in November 2019 after a few pots were found to hold tablets discoloured by Penicillium citrinum.^[4] From 8 January 2021 until its dissolution the register of persons with significant control listed two individuals, Yakub Ibrahim Patel and Anwer Ibrahim Issa Ismail Patel, each holding more than 25% but not more than 50% of the shares and voting rights, and no corporate shareholder.^[5] Before them, C.D. Medical Limited (company 09569508), based at the Allenby Laboratories address in Westhoughton, held more than 25% but not more than 50% of the shares from 27 May 2017 to 8 January 2021, and Elsie Maureen Armstrong was listed from 6 April 2016 to 26 May 2017.^[5]
