The Island Def Jam Music Group (Island Def Jam, IDJMG) was an American record label group formed by Universal Music Group on 31 December 1998, bringing together labels including Island Records, Def Jam Recordings and Mercury Records; Universal announced its dissolution on 1 April 2014, leaving Island and Def Jam as separate sister labels.[1] It holds the ℗ and © 2006 credits on Rihanna's A Girl Like Me, licensed in the UK to Mercury Records Ltd.[2] Its legal form and register entry were not confirmed for this stub.
