Dairy Crest Group Limited is the British holding company at the top of the Dairy Crest chain, registered in England as company 03162897 on 22 February 1996 as Fennelvale Limited, renamed Dairy Crest Group plc on 24 June 1996 for its stock market listing and re-registered as a private limited company under its present name on 25 April 2019, ten days after Saputo Inc. completed its acquisition of the group.^[1][2] Its registered office is 5 The Heights, Brooklands, Weybridge, Surrey KT13 0NY and it files under the SIC codes for butter and cheese production, margarine and edible fats, and oils and fats.^[1] Companies House records Saputo Dairy UK Ltd (11834952) as its only person with significant control since 15 April 2019.^[3]

On 14 August 2026 Saputo Inc. announced a definitive agreement with B.S.A. SAS (Lactalis) to sell its Dairy Division (UK), five manufacturing facilities together with the Cathedral City, Wensleydale, Davidstow, Clover and Country Life brands, at an enterprise value of about GBP 988 million, with closing expected by the end of the first quarter of calendar 2027 subject to customary conditions including regulatory approvals; the division generated about USD 1.2 billion of revenue over the preceding four quarters, roughly 7 % of Saputo's consolidated revenues.^[4] Dairy Crest Group Limited is the group holding company inside the business being sold, so the announcement bears on its ownership, but it names the division and its brands rather than the individual companies, and Companies House still showed the Saputo chain unchanged on 14 September 2026, so the ownership relation above stands as registered until completion.^[3]
