Champlain Financial Corporation is a Canadian private holding company based in Montreal that has been building a diversified private investment portfolio in Canada and the United States since 2005.^[1] In May 2018 it led a group of Quebec investors that acquired Baxters Canada Inc., the Saint-Hyacinthe soup and sauce maker now trading as BCI Foods, from Scotland's Baxters Food Group, making the business Canadian-owned again; Champlain dates the investment to June 2018 and names Fonds de solidarité FTQ, Fondaction and Investissement Québec as its partners in the deal.^[2]
