About BMG Direct
BMG Direct Ltd. was BMG's Canadian direct-marketing company, known mainly for its mail-order record club BMG Music Service Canada, which entered the market in late 1994 and distributed club editions of many major-label releases.[1] It was incorporated in Ontario on 12 May 1994 (company number 1081147), was based at 5665 McLaughlin Road, Mississauga, and operated under this name until 1 July 1998, when it was merged into a successor company.[1] Its club editions carry the original label and catalogue number with a "Mfd. by BMG Direct Ltd." line, as on the Bootsauce compilation Bootism.[2]
