About Winiary

Winiary is a Polish culinary brand: soups, bouillons, sauces, mayonnaises, instant dishes, seasonings, jellies and puddings, more than 200 lines in all, sold with the claim that the brand is recognised by over 99 % of Poles.[1] The name comes from the village of Winiary near Kalisz, where a food-concentrate factory opened in October 1941; nationalised after the war, it traded as Zakłady Żywnościowe „Winiary" from 1946 and as Kaliskie Zakłady Koncentratów Spożywczych „Winiary" from 1960.[2] Nestlé bought into the company from 1995 and in 2001 it became the Kalisz branch of Nestlé Polska S.A., which kept the brand.[2] The registered trademark is held by Société des Produits Nestlé S.A.[3]
