About Sony
Sony is the brand of the Japanese Sony group, whose founders Masaru Ibuka and Akio Morita chose a short, easy name to label their products for the global market; the company, founded as Tokyo Tsushin Kogyo, adopted the name Sony Corporation in 1958 and became Sony Group Corporation in 2021.[1] The brand appeared on Sony's consumer batteries, including lithium coin cells such as the CR2025-B1A.[2] Murata Manufacturing completed its acquisition of Sony's battery business on 1 September 2017.[3]
