About Sire Records
Sire Records is an American record label founded in 1966 as Sire Productions by Seymour Stein and Richard Gottehrer, each putting ten thousand dollars into it, and its first releases reached American shops in 1968 through London Records.[1][2] It made its name in the second half of the 1970s by signing the Ramones, the Dead Boys, the Undertones and Talking Heads, and returned to major-label distribution with a Warner Bros. Records deal in 1977.[1] Today it is owned by Warner Music Group and distributed by Warner Records.[1] Its catalogue number 31001 carries the United States CD edition of Aphex Twin's Come to Daddy EP.[3]
