About Popular Electronics

Popular Electronics is a US electronics hobbyist magazine title. Ziff-Davis started it with the October 1954 issue and published it until 1982; the title was then sold to Gernsback Publications, which renamed its Hands-On Electronics to Popular Electronics in February 1989 and published it until December 1999, when it merged with Electronics Now to become Poptronics.[1] Under Gernsback each monthly issue carried construction projects, experiments and columns on amateur radio, shortwave and scanners for hobbyists.[2]
