About

Philadelphia is a cream cheese brand. William Lawrence, a dairyman from Chester, New York, first made the cheese in 1872, and it has been sold under the Philadelphia name since 1880. The trademark later passed to the Phenix Cheese Company, which merged with Kraft in 1928, and the brand is now owned by Kraft Heinz and Mondelez International.[1] In the United States, Kraft Heinz sells it as tubs of Original Cream Cheese Spread, among other products.[2]
