About
Lavazza is the coffee brand of Luigi Lavazza S.p.A., founded in Turin in 1895 by Luigi Lavazza in a small grocery shop at Via San Tommaso 10 and still administered by the third and fourth generations of the family.[1] Packs print the line "TORINO, ITALIA, 1895" under the wordmark.[2] The company is the world's seventh-largest coffee roaster, holds a retail share above 36% in Italy and trades through subsidiaries and distributors in more than ninety countries, exporting just under half its output.[1] Lavazza credits itself with popularising blending, the combining of coffees from different growing regions, and its ranges include Qualità Oro, Qualità Rossa, Crema e Gusto and the A Modo Mio capsule system.[1][3]
