Electrola is a German record label, founded in 1925 by the British Gramophone Company as its German subsidiary; it became EMI's German company after the 1931 merger that formed EMI, and since 2012 it has belonged to Universal Music Group, based in Munich.[1] Discogs describes "EMI Electrola" as the trademark of EMI Electrola GmbH on German pressings from 1972 to 2002 and lists the Electrola label under label code LC 0193.[2] Falco's Out of the Dark (Into the Light) appeared on the label in 1998.[3]
