About this product

Coca-Cola Original Taste in the one-litre refillable PET bottle sold in Germany. Coca-Cola's German site describes this 1.0 litre PET Mehrweg bottle as sold singly or in a mixed crate, refilled many times over, with green information arrows on the label showing which bottles are refilled and which recycled.[2] An Essen drinks retailer lists it under this barcode at EUR 1.80 plus a EUR 0.15 deposit, gives the legal denomination as a caffeinated soft drink with plant extracts, and has stocked it since February 2015.[1] The old Barcodepedia page for the same number already described a 1 l PET bottle of Coca-Cola in 2010.[3]

More about this product

Every photographed label is German only. The 2015 back labels print "MEHRWEGFLASCHE PFAND ZURÜCK", the claims "NATÜRLICHE AROMEN", "OHNE ZUGESETZTE KONSERVIERUNGSSTOFFE" and "SEIT 1886", and name Coca-Cola Erfrischungsgetränke AG of Postfach 67 01 56, Berlin, selling the drink "Mit Genehmigung von THE COCA-COLA COMPANY"; one of them also carries a Christmas-truck competition running from 10 November to 15 December 2015.[4] That company is now Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Deutschland GmbH, registered at Charlottenburg under HRB 173624 B, and the retailer's data sheet still carries the old name, so every available source for the operator is out of date.[5][6][1]

The ingredient wording has moved twice. Labels photographed in 2015 and in April 2025 read "natürliches Aroma, Aroma Koffein", while photographs from 2021 and 2022 read "natürliches Aroma inklusive Koffein", so the caffeine was folded into the flavouring and later separated out again. All three generations are kept, dated by the photographs rather than by any announced change.[4] The nutrition declaration has not moved at all: every photographed panel prints 180 kJ and 42 kcal per 100 ml with 10.6 g of sugars, and a second column per 250 ml glass, four to the litre, giving 450 kJ, 105 kcal and 27 g of sugars.[4] The zeros for fat, saturates, protein and salt are printed values.[4]

Two things this barcode is not. Open Food Facts records its quantity as "12l", which is the twelve-bottle crate the retailer lists, not the bottle, and it holds the label artwork numbers beside the barcode as a packaging code; they are not an oval identification mark, so no country of origin is claimed.[7] France is tagged there too, but no photographed label or listing supports it.[7]
