About this product

Perlenbacher Premium Pils is a 4.9 % pilsner sold at Lidl in Germany in a 0.5 litre one-way glass bottle with the EAN-8 code 42143789.[2] Perlenbacher is a trademark of Lidl Stiftung & Co. KG.[3] The back label photographed in 2018 names Frankfurter Brauhaus GmbH in Frankfurt (Oder) as the brewer, lists water, barley malt and hops, and says the beer is made in Germany to the German Reinheitsgebot.[1] In 2007 the same barcode was recorded as Bergadler Premium Pils in a 0,5 l bottle,[4] an earlier Lidl pils that a 2011 test also traced to the Frankfurt (Oder) brewery.[5]

More about this product

Bergadler was brewed for Lidl and later discontinued.[6] Frankfurter Brauhaus, Brandenburg's only large brewery, brews mostly retailers' own-label beers. Two east German entrepreneurs took it over after Brau und Brunnen planned to close the site around 2003.[7] A 2021 photo filed under this barcode shows 170 kJ / 41 kcal per 100 ml on a different green label that has not been matched to this article.[8]

  • Label crop with energy statement, green background: nutrient evidence: 2 / 2 · Recorded nutrient rows linked to a source; not the number of nutrients that ought to exist
  • nutrition · disputed: The only energy statement comes from a 2021 crop of a green label that differs from the 2018 label; whether it belongs to this EAN-8 is unconfirmed
  • markets · unknown: Open Food Facts lists France as a country; the photographed pack is German (DPG deposit mark) and no French listing was found
  • identity · unknown: No source dates the switch from Bergadler to Perlenbacher on this barcode; a 2011 test still found Bergadler 0,5 l one-way bottles at Lidl
  • images · stale: The newest front photo dates from 2018 while a 2021 review says the Perlenbacher label was redesigned
