About this product

Bang! Gunship Elite is a space combat game for the Sega Dreamcast, developed by the French studio RayLand and published by Red Storm Entertainment.[2] This barcode, UPC 0 08888 26020 2, is the North American release with model number T-44102N, rated Everyone by the ESRB.[1] The Dreamcast version came out in North America in December 2000, a few months after the Windows version of July 2000.[2] The game was released only in North America, even though its developer was based in France.[3] Reviews were mixed, and Metacritic lists it as "mixed or average" on both platforms.[2]

The player flies a combat spacecraft in a fully 3D environment for the Alliance of the Twin Suns system against the Sektar and the Morgoths.[2] Before this game, Rayland had made the 1998 PC vehicular combat game Mad Trax.[3] Ubi Soft bought Red Storm Entertainment in August 2000, a few months before the Dreamcast release,[4] and Amazon.com names Ubisoft as the manufacturer of this UPC.[1] Ubisoft was then known as Ubi Soft Entertainment.[5]

Coverage & research gaps (5)

Coverage measures the evidence recorded here. It does not rate the product.

  • Identity: 3 / 3 · Name, brand and classification recorded
  • Game details: 5 / 5 · Profile fields recorded: platform, publisher, developer, released, region. Missing fields may require research or an applicability note.
  • Context: 1 / 1 · Evidence groups assigned to a researched label, edition or analysis
  • Label photographs: 0 / 1 · Researched contexts with an assigned photograph
  • Specifications: 2 / 3 · Recorded specifications mapped to comparable property keys
  • images · unknown: No licensed front-cover photograph of this case; the publisher label on the cover is taken from Wikipedia's publisher field, not from a photo.
  • identity · disputed: Release date: Amazon.com gives 21 December 2000, Wikipedia gives 22 December 2000.
  • relationships · unknown: Length of the 008888 company prefix: the block also carries unrelated brands in upcitemdb's neighbouring numbers, so no prefix is written to a company stub.
  • images · not_researched: No product photographs recorded.
  • schema · schema_gap: Some specifications retain source labels without comparable property keys.
