Tilsit

About

Tilsit, or Tilsiter, is a pale yellow semi-hard smear-ripened cheese created in the mid-19th century by Prussian-Swiss settlers in Tilsit, East Prussia, today Sovetsk in Russia.^[1] On Polish processed-cheese labels it appears as "Tylżycki", declared with its share of the product.^[2]
