About
Sugar alcohol about half as sweet as sucrose, mostly made by reducing glucose from starch and also present in fruit and berries; as a food additive it carries the E number 420 and works as a humectant and plasticiser.[1] The 2018 Italian Morositas Berry label declares it as the stabiliser.[2]
