Sodium hydrogen sulphite

ingredient

About

Sodium hydrogen sulphite is a sulphite preservative that the Food Standards Agency lists as E222 in its table of additives approved for use in Great Britain, among the preservatives between sodium sulphite (E221) and sodium metabisulphite (E223).[1] Older British labels print the same substance under its chemical synonym sodium bisulphite, which is how it appears in the 2006 ingredient list of Lucozade Energy Original that this entry supports.[2]
