Sal fat is one of the six vegetable fats other than cocoa butter that Directive 2000/36/EC permits in chocolate products, up to 5 % of the finished product; Annex II names it "Sal (Shorea robusta)".[1] It is declared in the vegetable fat bracket of the 45 g four-finger KitKat wrapper sold in the United Kingdom and Ireland.[2]
