About

Pyridoxine hydrochloride is 3-hydroxy-4,5-dihydroxymethyl-2-methylpyridine hydrochloride (C8H11NO3·HCl, CAS 58-56-0), a synthetic form of vitamin B6.[1] The US Food and Drug Administration affirms it as generally recognized as safe for use in food as a nutrient supplement, in foods including baked goods and nonalcoholic beverages, at levels within good manufacturing practice.[1] US labels often abbreviate it as pyridoxine HCl, as the Red Bull Energy Drink label record does.[2]
