Polydextrose is a synthetic glucose polymer used as a bulking agent, and as a partial replacement for sugar and fat, in confectionery, baked goods and drinks; it is only partly digested and so contributes fewer calories than sugar. It carries the number E1200 on the Union list of food additives.[1] It is the last ingredient of the current Poppets Toffee carton, where it did not appear on the label revision photographed in 2022.[2]
