Mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids

About
E471 is the emulsifier the Food Standards Agency lists as "Mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids".[1] It is declared on Pringles Original as the pack's only emulsifier, printed in Polish as "emulgator (E471)" and in French as "émulsifiant: E471".[2][3] The fatty acids can come from either plant or animal fat and labels do not usually say which, so the vegan and vegetarian status is recorded here as uncertain rather than assumed; Open Food Facts nonetheless carries vegan and vegetarian labels for this particular product.[3]
