Inositol

About

Inositol is a carbocyclic sugar that was used as an ingredient in energy drinks. It is printed in the ingredient list of the Portuguese-language Red Bull Energy Drink can photographed in 2014, standing between the caffeine and the B vitamins.^[1] None of the later ingredient lists read for the same barcode, in German, Spanish, Italian or Romanian, carries it, so on that evidence it belongs to an earlier formulation.^[2][3] This stub was created from those label transcriptions; no source read here gives its function in the recipe.
