Aluminium sesquichlorohydrate

Aluminium sesquichlorohydrate (CAS 1327-41-9) is an aluminium salt used as an anti-perspirant agent, a deodorant agent and a cosmetic astringent; it works by physically blocking the eccrine sweat glands, and the United States Food and Drug Administration permits it in anti-perspirants at up to 25%.^[1] It is a separate salt from aluminium chlorohydrate. Labels print it under the INCI name Aluminum Sesquichlorohydrate, as on the 150 ml Dove Advanced Care Invisible Dry aerosol, where it follows the propellants, the carrier and PPG-14 butyl ether.^[2]
