About
Lucozade Energy is the core range of the British Lucozade brand: fizzy glucose drinks sold in PET bottles and cans, which Lucozade lists beside its Sport, Alert and Zero ranges.[1] The line dates from the 1983 relaunch of Lucozade from a sickroom tonic into an energy drink, and took its name and logo in the 1996 relaunch that introduced a 300 ml bottle; Original is the founding flavour, joined by Orange and Lemon in 1986 and Tropical in 1990.[2] The range was reformulated in 2017 to cut its sugar ahead of the British soft drinks levy, and again in 2023.[2]
