## About <!--about-->
Karhu 4,6 is a Finnish pale lager sold in a 33 cl aluminium can, brewed and put on the market by Sinebrychoff of Kerava, the only operator named on the pack.[^off-can25] Karhu — Finnish for bear — has been brewed since 1929, first at the Pori brewery that Sinebrychoff bought in 1972; brewing moved to Kerava in 2006 and Pori closed in 2009.[^wp-karhu] The brewer describes the 4,6 % variant as a lager in which malt and hops come through more strongly than in a basic lager, made from water, barley malt, barley and hops to an original gravity of 10,2 °Plato, a colour of 12 EBC and a bitterness of 16 EBU.[^sff]
Sinebrychoff, founded in 1819 and the oldest industrial brewery in the Nordic countries, has been part of the Carlsberg Group since 1999 and brews Karhu and KOFF alongside licensed Carlsberg and Coca-Cola products.[^cg-fi] The old Barcodepedia held this barcode as "karhu olut" in a January 2009 capture, which is why it sat on the wanted list.[^oldsite]
