Lucozade Energy Original 380 ml is an export bottle of the original Lucozade Energy, a sparkling glucose drink labelled "Born in the UK. Export quality" and made by Lucozade Ribena Suntory at the Royal Forest Factory in Coleford, Gloucestershire.[^off] Its barcode is in the GS1 Kenya range, and a Ghanaian grocer, BarGains Center, sold it under that barcode for GH₵ 5.85 in April 2026.[^bargainsgh] The photographed label lists carbonated water, 13% glucose syrup, citric and lactic acids, 0.012% caffeine, the sweeteners aspartame and acesulfame K and the colours sunset yellow and Ponceau 4R, with 37 kcal and 4.5 g of sugars per 100 ml.[^off]
Lucozade is a British brand that GlaxoSmithKline sold to the Japanese drinks group Suntory in September 2013, and it has been sold in markets in Africa, Asia and Australasia.[^wikipedia] The aspartame and acesulfame K sweetening matches the 2017 recipe that cut sugar to 22.5 g per 500 ml; a 2023 reformulation kept that sugar level and moved to sucralose and acesulfame K.[^wikipedia]
