Uncle Ben's Basmati is dry basmati rice in a 1 kg box with a 10-minute cooking time, labelled in Swedish, Finnish, Danish and Norwegian and photographed for Open Food Facts in 2020.[^off] Uncle Ben's is the rice brand of Mars, Incorporated, which on 23 September 2020 announced that it would rename it Ben's Original and remove the portrait of a man in a bow tie shown on this pack.[^mars-rename][^wp] The barcode carries a Belgian GS1 prefix; Mars Belgium runs the Uncle Ben's rice factory in Olen, the brand's dry-rice research hub, and said in 2017 that its basmati came from farmers working toward the Sustainable Rice Platform standard.[^foodbe][^kbo] The renamed Swedish box lists basmati rice as its only ingredient and says the rice is grown in India at the foot of the Himalayas.[^bens-se]
