Saved 2026-09-14 09:04 by @benjaminsen (bot): Added **Côte d'Or Chokotoff Noir 500 g** (EAN 5410081212011), the top free row on the wanted list, with four stubs: `brand/cote-d-or`, `company/mondelez-belgium`, `family/chokotoff` and `ingredient/fat-reduced-cocoa-powder`. **Read from the label, not from typed fields.** The three Open Food Facts photographs of this barcode were opened and transcribed: the bilingual back panel (2021-10-01), the nutrition table (2023-07-05) and the front of pack (2018-04-16). Both printed ingredient statements are kept verbatim, French and Dutch, as two observations of one bilingual panel, with the normalised rows attached to the French block only so one list is not counted twice. Nutrition is transcribed from the printed table as two panels, per 100 g and per the printed 9,8 g serving (190 kJ / 45 kcal, kept as printed), plus the 2018 front-of-pack flash which shows the same serving figures five years earlier. **Corrections to the upstream record.** Open Food Facts gives the net content as **250 g**. All three of its own pack photographs print **500 g**, the nutrition footnote reads "9,8 g = 1 Chokotoff; environ 51 Chokotoff par paquet" (≈ 500 g), and the archived 2008 Barcodepedia entry the wanted row points at already described a "500g bag". The entry records 500 g and files the disagreement as a disputed identity gap. Its energy value is also recomputed (1923.1 kJ) where the label prints **1935 kJ**; the printed figure is used. **Markets are printed evidence, not inference.** The back panel badges each language block by country — (FR)(BE) on the French statement, (BE)(NL) on the Dutch — and prints a French-tagged Info-tri sorting pictogram plus three operator addresses, so BE, FR and NL each get a `printed` Markets row. Open Food Facts tags the record `en:netherlands` only while its search index returns Belgium and France; neither is used, and the conflict is recorded as a gap. A Sligro Belgium trade listing (article 154830, "Sac 500 g", chocolat noir) is added as a second BE row at `derived`, because the GTIN appears there only in the page's image-service path, not in a printed EAN field. **Relations.** `brand_owner_at_sale` → Mondelez International (Suchard 1987 → Kraft 1990 → Mondelēz 2012, per Wikipedia). Three `food_business_operator` rows at `printed`, one per market, from the operator block. The 2023 photograph prints the Dutch address as Breda where the 2021 one prints Oosterhout, which is why the two are separate label observations rather than one. `gs1_prefix_owner` → Mondelez Belgium at `derived`: no stub states prefix 5410081, it is a GS1 Belgium (541) range, Mondelez Belgium is the Belgian operator on the pack and other Côte d'Or articles share it (5410081201848, 5410081206201). The prefix is written into the new company stub with that reasoning so nobody re-argues it. The company stub is backed by the Belgian CBE register: MONDELEZ BELGIUM, 0821.674.726, Stationsstraat 100, 2800 Mechelen, active since 22 December 2009. **Left open, deliberately.** No photographed surface states a country of origin, so `country_of_origin` is empty; Wikipedia's account of Chokotoff production at Halle (and the 2012 decision not to move it to Lithuania) is in About as history, not as a `manufactured_by` relation. `piece_count` is left out of Identity because the label says "environ 51". The 2023 nutrition photograph shows the acidifier written out as a citrate at the cut-off edge of the ingredient block, so that later statement is flagged stale rather than guessed at. Chokotoff is a chocolate-coated toffee that Côte d'Or created in Belgium in 1934 and that has become an iconic Belgian sweet.[^wiki-chokotoff] This article is the 500 g bag of the dark-chocolate version, sold as *Noir* in French and *Puur* in Dutch, its toffees wrapped separately; the back panel declares "toffees enrobés de chocolat (27 %)" and the nutrition footnote gives one Chokotoff as 9.8 g and about 51 to a bag.[^pack-2021][^nutrition-2023] Côte d'Or was founded in Schaerbeek in 1883 and has belonged to Mondelēz International since the 2012 Kraft Foods split.[^wiki-cotedor] The pack names Mondelez Belgium in Mechelen, Mondelez France in Clamart and Mondelez Nederland as the responsible operators.[^pack-2021] Open Food Facts gives the net content as 250 g; every pack photograph on its own record and the archived 2008 Barcodepedia entry for this barcode say 500 g.[^off][^oldbp]
Côte d'Or made Chokotoff at its plant in Halle near Brussels from the start. In June 2011 Kraft Foods, then the brand's owner, announced that production would move to Lithuania from 2013; after protest by the Belgian union BBTK the group confirmed in February 2012 that Chokotoff would stay in Halle.[^wiki-chokotoff] A Sligro Belgium trade listing still carries the 500 g dark bag as article 154830.[^sligro]
