KitKat is the chocolate-covered wafer bar Rowntree's launched in 1935; Nestlé has controlled it everywhere except the United States since buying Rowntree's in 1988.[^wikikitkat] This barcode is the 200 g bag of 12 individually wrapped KitKat Mini bars of 16.7 g, one portion of 85 kcal each on the current Spanish label.[^packes2025] The bars are made by Nestlé Deutschland in Frankfurt,[^pack2015] and Alcampo gives Germany as the country of origin.[^alcampo] The same barcode is printed on a Spanish-only bag from Nestlé España[^packes2025] and on a multilingual bag distributed by Nestlé Hellas in Greece, with addresses in Cyprus and Poland.[^packmulti2025] The milk chocolate makes up 68.4 % of the bar and its cocoa is Rainforest Alliance certified.[^packes2025]
The recipe has changed since 2015, when the bag listed cocoa butter third, palm oil, sunflower lecithin, flavourings and salt, printed 520 kcal per 100 g and described the chocolate as 67.8 % of the bar.[^pack2015] The 2025 labels use palm and shea fats and glucose syrup, drop the flavourings and salt, and print 511 or 512 kcal per 100 g.[^packes2025][^packmulti2025] Alcampo's sheet gives the same figures as the multilingual bag but orders the cocoa ingredients differently.[^alcampo]
