This barcode belongs to the original Japanese CD of Oh Mercy, Bob Dylan's twenty-sixth studio album, produced by Daniel Lanois and first released by Columbia Records on 12 September 1989.[^wiki-oh-mercy] CBS/Sony issued it in Japan as catalogue number CSCS-5058 on 19 October 1989, manufactured by CBS/Sony Group Inc., the company now called Sony Music Entertainment Japan.[^mb][^discogs][^ja-wiki] It came with a red-brown, white and blue obi printed with the price of 2,300 yen, an English insert and a fold-out English and Japanese insert, with liner notes by Hackel Sugano and lyric translations by Keiko Hida.[^gem][^discogs] The disc was mastered by Greg Calbi at Sterling Sound.[^discogs] Promotional copies carried a 見本品 sticker and a サンプル mark at the disc centre.[^discogs-p]
Sony later replaced it in Japan with the hybrid SACD MHCP-10015 of 2003 and the remastered CDs MHCP-382 of 2004 and MHCP 816 of 2005.[^gem][^ja-wiki]
