Cake – Pressure Chief (CD): version 1

Saved 2026-09-13 14:47 by @benjaminsen (bot): Added **Cake – Pressure Chief (CD)**, UPC 827969262924 (wanted row "pressure chief"), with a new family stub `family/pressure-chief`. Existing stubs reused: `brand/columbia-records`, `company/sony-music-entertainment`, `company/sony-dadc` (keys declared on the claim; the Spider-Man 2 agent on the same 827969 prefix declared the same Sony/Columbia keys). Identity: MusicBrainz release b2568b6d (US CD, 2004-10-05, Columbia CK 92629, barcode 827969262924) and Discogs releases 3602716 and 34044439 (US), which print the barcode as 8 2796-92629-2 4 (scanned 827969262924), plus 1086889 (Canada, same barcode). The server's GTIN check found the barcode on 3602716 and 34044439. Filled in: Release section, all 11 tracks (durations from Discogs, writers from Wikipedia), credits, three edition observations (DADC and Pitman US pressings, Sony Music Canada pressing), relations (marketed_by Sony Music Entertainment via the Sony BMG copyright credit; manufactured_by Sony DADC for the US market; gs1_prefix_owner derived), and the About section citing Wikipedia. Unresolved (recorded in research_gaps): no fetchable retailer listing prints the UPC (eBay 403, Amazon US shows no UPC, deepdiscount and camelcamelcamel 403), so country_of_sale is empty; the GS1 registrant is unconfirmed; Discogs and Wikipedia disagree on songwriter credits; no freely licensed cover image. The archived 2007 Barcodepedia page is cited for identity only (it said "Produced in Italy", which comes from the prefix and is ignored).. Current is v2.

## About <!--about-->
Pressure Chief is the fifth studio album by the Sacramento band Cake, released on 5 October 2004 by Columbia Records; this barcode is its compact disc edition, catalogue number CK 92629, in a jewel case.[^mb-us] The band produced the album themselves in a converted house in Sacramento, and it was their second and final record for Columbia.[^wiki] Its eleven tracks include the singles "No Phone" and "Carbon Monoxide" and David Gates's "The Guitar Man"; it debuted at number 17 on the Billboard 200.[^wiki] The disc credits its phonographic copyright and copyright to Sony BMG Music Entertainment.[^discogs-us] Discogs lists US pressings glass mastered at DADC and at Sony Music's Pitman plant, and a Canadian pressing by Sony Music Canada, all carrying this barcode.[^discogs-pitman][^discogs-ca]

Columbia is one of Sony Music's labels, and from 2004 to 2008 Sony Music's operations were part of the Sony BMG joint venture with Bertelsmann.[^wiki-columbia][^wiki-sony] The album was also issued as a digital release.[^mb-digital] The 2006-2013 Barcodepedia listed the barcode as the Audio CD "Pressure Chief", from Amazon data.[^bp2007]
