Infiniment is a double-CD compilation of Jacques Brel's best-known songs, issued by the Barclay label under catalogue number 980 839-6 with this barcode.[^mb][^frwiki] Its 40 remastered tracks include five songs recorded for Les Marquises in autumn 1977 that Brel had held back: "La Cathédrale", "L'amour est mort", "Mai 40", "Avec élégance" and "Sans exigences".[^enwiki][^frwiki] It appeared in September 2003 to mark the 25th anniversary of his death.[^enwiki] Brel had written to Eddie Barclay that the songs were not to be released without his approval; Barclay, by then owned by Universal Music France, issued them with the consent of his widow and daughter, and the decision was controversial.[^frwiki] Discogs documents pressings of this barcode by Universal M & L in Germany and by Cinram.[^discogs-802457][^discogs-12769928]
French Wikipedia lists the compilation as certified double gold by SNEP in France and gold in Belgium, and records single-disc, digipack, SACD and cassette editions under other barcodes.[^frwiki] The 2007 Barcodepedia page described the same 2003 Universal compilation as an audio CD.[^barcodepedia-2007]
