Metamucil 4-in-1 Fiber Real Sugar Orange is a 1.36 kg (48.2 oz) canister of orange-flavoured psyllium husk powder sweetened with sucrose, sold in the United States as a dietary fiber supplement with about 114 one-tablespoon servings.[^pack] It is distributed by Procter & Gamble of Cincinnati, Ohio,[^pack] which bought the Metamucil brand from G. D. Searle & Company in 1985; Searle had introduced it in 1934.[^wiki] Sucrose leads the ingredient list ahead of psyllium husk, and the current Supplement Facts panel gives 80 calories, 16 g of added sugars and 6 g of dietary fiber, 5 g of it soluble, per two rounded tablespoons.[^pack] The maker's page for the real-sugar orange powder shows this barcode on its pack picture and doses it at one rounded tablespoon in 8 oz or more of cool liquid, up to three times a day.[^maker]
Label photos from 2019 show an earlier design headed "4 in 1 MultiHealth Fiber!" with the same ingredient list, whose panel printed 90 calories, 1.4 mg of iron and 70 mg of potassium per two rounded tablespoons; by November 2024 the canister carried the "4-in-1 Fiber" design, with 80 calories, 0.7 mg of iron, 60 mg of potassium and a separate added-sugars line.[^pack] Amazon.com lists the canister under this number with a first-available date of 16 October 2012, and the shop MyOTCStore sells it under the same UPC.[^amazon][^myotc] The first Barcodepedia recorded the barcode in 2007 as "META ST ORG SG 114 DS".[^bp2007] The same powder is sold sugar-free and in other counts, listed on the family page.[^maker]
