Piano Transcriptions is a single-CD Decca album on which Vladimir Ashkenazy plays Sergei Rachmaninov's piano transcriptions of music by Bach, Schubert, Mendelssohn, Bizet, Mussorgsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Tchaikovsky and Kreisler, followed by Rachmaninov's own pieces for piano four and six hands.[^decca][^musicbrainz] Vovka Ashkenazy and Dódý Ashkenazy join him in the ensemble works, with trumpeter Alastair Mackie in the Italian Polka.[^discogs-us] Decca Classics lists the album under this UPC with a release date of 1 August 2002.[^decca] One barcode covers two pressings: a US disc manufactured and marketed by Universal Classics Group, a division of UMG Recordings, Inc., and a German-made European disc from Decca Music Group Limited in London.[^discogs-us][^discogs-eu]
