The old title, Open Food Facts, USDA, the Amazon.com listing and the Kraft Heinz site all agree on the identity, so the lookup's `conflict` (two food records with different wording) was only a naming difference. - **Identity**: the 2020 front photo (OFF imgid 2) shows 24 slices, Net Wt 16 oz (1 lb) 453 g, "Pasteurized Recipe Cheese Product", Original flavor. Category is GPC 10000028 Cheese (Perishable). - **Label revisions**: ingredients and the per-slice (19 g) Nutrition Facts panel are transcribed from the 2026 back-panel photos (imgid 22 and 24). Velveeta Slices Original is a 16 oz (453 g) pack of 24 individually wrapped slices of Velveeta, labelled "pasteurized recipe cheese product" in Original flavor.[^front2020] Kraft Heinz Foods Company of Chicago is printed on the back,[^label2026] and the maker sells the slices in 12 oz and 16 oz packs.[^kh-slices] The back panel photographed in 2026 lists skim milk first, while USDA's 2023 record for the same barcode starts with whey, so the recipe or label order has changed since then.[^usda] The 2007 Barcodepedia page, typed from Amazon data, called it Kraft Velveeta Cheese Singles.[^archive2007]
Velveeta was developed in 1918 by Emil Frey of the Monroe Cheese Company in New York and was bought by Kraft in 1927. After a 2002 FDA warning letter over the term "process cheese spread", it has been sold in the United States under a name that no FDA standard defines.[^enwiki-velveeta]
