Kraft Singles White American is a 12 oz (340 g) pack of 16 individually wrapped slices of pasteurized prepared cheese product, the white counterpart of the yellow American slices, sold in the United States under the Kraft brand.[^kh] USDA records Kraft Heinz Foods Company as its brand owner,[^usda] and Kraft Heinz lists it among its KRAFT SINGLES products at 50 calories per 21 g slice.[^kh] Kraft Singles were introduced in 1950, and the product carries the "pasteurized prepared cheese product" name after a 2002 FDA warning over a recipe that used milk protein concentrate.[^enwiki-singles]
A pack photographed in 2015 named Kraft Foods Group of Northfield, Illinois, and declared milk first, with sodium citrate, natamycin and vitamin D3 at 60 calories a slice.[^label-2015] The recipe Kraft Heinz now publishes leads with cheddar cheese and uses sodium phosphate, sorbic acid and vitamin A palmitate.[^kh] A 2021 front still printed 60 calories per slice, with an ALWAYS MADE WITH MILK badge.[^label-2021]
