Diet Pepsi 1 L is the one-litre plastic bottle of Diet Pepsi, the sugar-free cola PepsiCo test marketed as Patio Diet Cola in 1963 and launched nationally in the United States the following year.[^wikidietpepsi] City Fresh Market in Astoria, New York lists it under this UPC,[^cityfresh] and Hays Supermarkets files its one-litre listing under the same barcode with pack copy reading "Now aspartame free", the wording of the sucralose formula PepsiCo sold in the US between 2015 and 2018.[^hays][^wikidietpepsi] PepsiCo's own product facts site now lists the 33.8 fl oz Diet Pepsi under a different barcode and does not recognise this one, so this number is probably an earlier article.[^ppf338][^ppfgtin]
The 2007 Barcodepedia page for the barcode was titled as a 2 litre bottle but described a 1 litre bottle.[^oldbp] The only Open Food Facts photo for the number shows a Diet Pepsi bottle on a Saudi Arabian shelf that cannot be matched to this article.[^off]
