A German two-CD club edition, catalogue number MCD 99821, of Hermann Scherchen's 1959 stereo recording of Bach's Mass in B minor, BWV 232, issued on the MCA Classics label in 1989.[^discogs] The soloists are Pierrette Alarie, Nan Merriman, Léopold Simoneau and Gustav Neidlinger, with the Vienna Academy Chamber Choir and the Vienna State Opera Orchestra; the recording was made in Vienna in April and June 1959.[^discogs] MCA Classics was the classical label of MCA Records, Inc. from 1986 to 1997.[^discogs-mca-classics] Its US counterpart is the Double Decker set MCAD2-9821 of the same year, whose notes say every selection was previously released on Westminster.[^discogs-mca] Amazon.de lists a matching MCA double CD, made in Germany, under this barcode and marks it discontinued.[^amazon-de]
MCA Records acquired the Westminster catalogue when it bought ABC Records in 1979; the Westminster recordings are managed today by Deutsche Grammophon, which reissued this recording in 2002.[^wp-westminster]
