Freeway Cola Light is the low-calorie cola of Freeway, the own soft-drink label of the German discounter Lidl, in a 1.5-litre PET bottle carrying the eight-digit barcode 42143581.[^lidl-brand] The German label sells it as a "kalorienarmes, koffeinhaltiges Erfrischungsgetränk mit Süßungsmitteln" and replaces sugar with cyclamate, acesulfame K and aspartame, colouring the drink with sulphite ammonia caramel and acidifying it with citric and phosphoric acid.[^off-ing] The bottle names MEG Weißenfels GmbH & Co. KG of Langendorfer Straße 23 in Weißenfels as the food business operator,[^off-back] a Saxony-Anhalt bottler whose own range page says its colas and lemonades reach shoppers at Lidl under the Freeway name.[^meg-range] The back also carries the European Vegetarian Union's vegan V-Label and a 0,25 € one-way deposit.[^off-back]
The number is an old one: the original Barcodepedia already held a page at the slug "freeway-cola-light" when it was captured in May 2007, though that entry recorded no facts beyond the barcode.[^old-bp] Two photographed label generations, from 2019 and 2021, declare identical figures — 2 kJ and under 1 kcal per 100 ml — so the recipe was stable across the printings on record.[^off-2019] Lidl's current Freeway page names only Zero colas, and SupermarktCheck's last Lidl prices for the 1.5-litre Cola light, 0,65 € at the shelf and 0,33 € on offer, are both flagged expired, so the article may no longer be produced; no source says so outright.[^sc-light]
