Saskia is the own-label mineral water of the German discounter Lidl, and this 0.5-litre one-way PET bottle is the carbonated Classic sort drawn from the Saskia spring at Wörth am Rhein in Rhineland-Palatinate.[^lidl-saskia][^off-back-2023] The label sells it as natural mineral water with carbon dioxide added, bottled at the point of extraction in 76744 Wörth am Rhein, and says it suits a low-sodium diet.[^off-back-2023][^off-side-2018] It is filled by MEG Weißenfels GmbH & Co. KG, which bottles Saskia for Lidl at five German spring sites and lists the 0,5-litre Classic in its current range.[^meg-water] The barcode is an EAN-8, allocated individually rather than out of a company prefix.
Photographs taken between 2018 and 2024 show two label generations. On the silver label the front carried the Saskia crown, the word Mineralwasser, the CLASSIC band and a gold DLG roundel, and the printed analysis gave four figures per litre: sodium 9,6 mg, magnesium 15,5 mg, calcium 87,4 mg and hydrogen carbonate 351 mg.[^off-front-2018][^off-side-2018][^off-analysis-2021] By May 2023 the bottle carried the current design, with the spring name set in script across the front, the 0,25 € one-way deposit beside the barcode and a framed claim that the bottle body is made of 100 % recycled plastic.[^off-back-2023] The analysis on that label runs to eight figures, adding potassium 1,9 mg, fluoride under 0,20 mg, chloride 9,4 mg and sulphate 3,0 mg, and is credited to the same laboratory as before, an extract from the Laborunion Prof. Höll & Co. GmbH analysis of 10 January 2012 confirmed by ongoing control analyses.[^off-analysis-2024] MEG's own composition sheet for the Wörth am Rhein spring, dated 19 January 2022, prints those eight values identically and adds iron and manganese under 0,01 mg, iodide under 0,005 mg, nitrite under 0,02 mg, nitrate 1,2 mg and silicic acid 21,7 mg, a total mineralisation of 481 mg/l, a dry residue at 180 °C of 318 mg/l, pH 7,6 and a total hardness of 15,8 °dH.[^meg-woerth]
