Glucuronolactone (glucurolactone, D-glucurono-γ-lactone) is a naturally occurring substance, a structural component of nearly all connective tissues and also found in many plant gums; it is a white, odourless solid, soluble in water, and has been used as an ingredient in energy drinks.[^wikipedia-glucurono] The European Food Safety Authority judged it not of safety concern at the levels used in energy drinks.[^wikipedia-glucurono] It appears on the 2012 French label of Red Bull Energy Drink, between caffeine and inositol, and not on the French labels of 2020 onwards.[^off-img-10][^off-img-19]
